I adhere to fiscal conservatism, believing in the responsible spending of taxpayer money toward projects that benefit the entire community. I am committed to eliminating wasteful spending and recognizing its harmful impact on the public's trust in elected officials.
With extensive experience managing substantial budgets within the Sheriff’s Office, including my role as a narcotics supervisor overseeing multiple grants, I ensured meticulous reporting and adherence to accounting requirements.
In my current role as a Sheriff’s Office Captain, I collaborate closely with the Sheriff, actively participating in the planning, prioritization, and monitoring of budget expenditures. My hands-on involvement allows me to make informed decisions to optimize resource allocation.
I have played a pivotal role in seeking out and securing additional funding sources for the Sheriff's Office, showcasing my dedication to fiscal responsibility and enhancing the organization's capabilities.

Public Safety

As a 25-year veteran in law enforcement, I have a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to combat crime and ensure that Folsom continues to be one of the safest cities to live in California.
STAFFING: The Folsom Police Department is woefully understaffed. They currently have fewer police officer positions than they were allotted in 2003. The City of Folsom has and continues to grow at a staggering pace yet the number of officers has not increased. An increase in the number of officers will allow Folsom PD to continue to provide the excellent service we are accustomed to while also assigning officers to special details that manage areas of concern such as; homelessness, fentanyl, retail theft, quality of life issues and human trafficking.
HOMELESSNESS: Homelessness is the number one issue in the state and until recently Folsom had been relatively immune. The homeless population has grown tremendously and so have the problems associated with this community. Members of the homeless community must be treated with compassion but also must obey the law and be held to the same standards as every other Folsom Resident.
RETAIL THEFT: On several occasions, I have personally observed individuals walking out of local stores without paying for items. It is not fair to the businesses in Folsom or the shopping public that such incidents are so common nowadays. The Folsom Police Department must have the resources to ensure that the message is sent that Folsom is not the place to come to steal.
-
I have successfully directed the Sheriff's plan to eliminate large encampments in unincorportated Sacramento County as well as led operations to address retail theft by enforcing our laws and building coalitions.
-
I will collaborate with the county to apply the resources to RT needed to make it safe and a viable option for commuters again in Folsom.
-
I will work to bring a community prosecutor into Folsom to address and stop the increase in crime, so that we can protect our quality of life.

I am firm in my belief that for Folsom to maintain its status as the jewel of Sacramento County, we must prioritize, promote, and encourage local businesses. It is the duty of local government to actively support the success of these businesses, ensuring we never become an obstacle to their growth.
Additionally, Folsom should strive to remain an attractive destination for industries seeking to contribute well-paying jobs and innovation to our city. By fostering an environment that welcomes such growth, we can secure a prosperous future for our community.
